Rapid flu and COVID testing and treatment right from your car.
Feeling rough and not sure if it’s flu, COVID, or something else? SmartMED Drive-Thru offers rapid on-site testing for flu A & B, COVID, and RSV — plus treatment options if you test positive. Pull up, get tested, get answers. No appointment needed.
Why Testing Matters
Know What You’re Dealing With
Flu and COVID can feel similar in the early stages, but they’re different viruses with different treatment options and different return-to-activity timelines. Testing matters because:
- Antiviral medications like Tamiflu are most effective when started within the first 48 hours of flu symptoms — so timing is everything
- COVID treatment options are available for eligible patients
- Knowing what you have helps protect the people around you
- A confirmed diagnosis gets you the right care faster

SYMPTOMS
Flu vs. COVID: What’s the Difference?
Symptoms can overlap significantly, which is exactly why testing — not guessing — is the right call. That said, here are some patterns to know:
Flu
- Sudden onset — you may feel fine one hour and terrible the next
- High fever, chills, and body aches (often severe)
- Fatigue, headache
- Respiratory symptoms: cough, sore throat, runny nose
- Vomiting and diarrhea possible, especially in children
COVID-19
- Symptom onset varies — can be gradual or sudden
- Fever, chills, fatigue
- Cough, shortness of breath
- Loss of taste or smell (less common with newer variants but still possible)
- Sore throat, congestion, headache
Bottom line: if you have a fever and feel like you’ve been hit by a truck, get tested. Don’t wait to see if it passes.

TREATMENT
If You Test Positive
Flu
If you test positive for flu and are within the 48-hour treatment window, we can prescribe antiviral medication (such as oseltamivir/Tamiflu) to reduce the severity and duration of your illness. We’ll also provide guidance on managing symptoms at home and when to follow up.
COVID-19
Treatment options for COVID depend on your symptoms, risk factors, and eligibility. Our providers will review your situation and discuss available options during your visit.
If You Test Negative
A negative result for flu and COVID doesn’t mean you’re not sick — other respiratory viruses can cause similar symptoms. Our providers will evaluate your full picture and create a treatment plan based on what we find.

SmartMED is the best way to go to the dr.! Efficient, professional and they care about you to boot. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes and felt "seen." I was not super sick and did not require a specialist so it was the perfect visit - yay! Plus, they followed up - who does that?!Posted on Google![]()

I had the absolute best experience. I was short on time and didn’t know if I could get into my doctor. A friend recommended SmartMed and it was great! In 10 minutes I was examined and had a prescription called in for my ear infection. I will definitely be back next time I am sick. It’s so convenient to be able to stay in your vehicle and the doctor was very thorough. Fantastic business model!Posted on Google![]()

I visited SmartMED earlier this summer when I wasn't feeling well and this will be the only urgent care I visit! I was so impressed with the care. They even sent me a get well card! Love knowing they are in the community :)Posted on Google![]()

When do you ever have a conversational, consultative approach with doctors these days? Hardly ever, which is why I was so pleased with Melissa, who took time and care with me and thoroughly asked me multifaceted questions about all my aches and pains at 53. Clearly, if I am raving about her in my perimenopausal state, she did something right.

Flu & COVID Testing FAQs
Do I need an appointment to get tested?
No. Just drive up. No appointment needed for urgent care at SmartMED.
How long does testing take?
Rapid antigen tests return results in about 15 minutes. PCR results come back within approximately one hour. Your total visit is typically 15 minutes or less.
Can you test my child?
Yes. We test and treat children ages 1 and up.
I tested positive at home. Should I still come in?
Yes, if you want to discuss treatment options or need documentation. A provider visit also lets us assess your symptoms and make sure nothing else is going on.
I feel better — do I still need to come in?
If you’ve recovered, probably not. But if you need a return-to-work or return-to-school note, or if symptoms have lingered longer than expected, come see us.
Do you offer testing for RSV?
Yes. RSV rapid antigen testing is available on-site. RSV is also included in our 4-Target PCR panel.
