FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Questions, Answered.

We know that choosing where to get care comes with questions. Here’s everything you need to know about SmartMED Drive-Thru — from how the drive-thru works to what we treat, what it costs, and who we see.

HOW IT WORKS

The Drive-Thru Experience

Pull up under our awning, scan the QR code to check in, and a nurse will come to your car to collect your medical history and reason for your visit. From there, a physician, PA, or FNP will come to you for a full evaluation. If you need a prescription, we send it to your pharmacy before you leave. Most visits are done in under 15 minutes.

No appointment needed for urgent care. Just drive up when you’re ready. Wait times are typically less than 5 minutes, though flu season can get a little busier.

Most care happens right from your car, but we do have fully equipped exam rooms just steps from the drive-thru for anything that needs a closer look. If that’s the case, we’ll let you know. Always check in through the drive-thru first.

Most urgent care visits wrap up in 15 minutes or less. If you need on-site lab work, rapid test results are typically ready within 15 minutes. PCR results return within about an hour.  In either case, you get to head home and we’ll call you with the results and treatment plan as soon as they are completed.

For the majority of visits, yes. Exams, testing, prescriptions — it all happens at your window. Certain procedures (like laceration repairs or incision and drainage) require a quick trip into our exam room, but we’ll always tell you upfront if that’s the case.

INSURANCE & PRICING

What It Costs

We’re in-network with most major commercial insurance plans, including Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. We also accept Medicare, Medicaid, Oscar, Peachstate, AmeriGroup, and CareSource. We’re classified as a “primary care” provider with many insurance companies, which often means lower out-of-pocket costs for you. Check with your carrier directly to confirm your specific benefits.

No problem. We believe everyone deserves affordable care. Our drive-thru medical visit fee is $95, and all lab and procedure fees are listed transparently on our Insurance & Pricing page. What you see is what you pay — no surprise billing.

The $95 medical visit fee covers your exam, diagnosis, and treatment plan and is due at time of service. Any lab testing or procedures are billed separately and added to that base fee. All pricing is posted on our website so you always know what to expect before you pull up.

PRIMARY CARE

Primary Care & Ongoing Health

Drive-thru urgent care is for when something comes up that needs attention today — an ear infection, strep, a UTI. Primary Care is for ongoing health management: annual exams, chronic condition monitoring, hormone management and preventive care.  Many of our patients use both.

Yes. Primary care appointments are scheduled in advance. Call (770) 406-6215 or book online to set up your visit.
