Patient Registration Specialist

Job Title: Patient Registration Specialist (SmartMED Drive-Thru)
Location: Roswell, GA

Schedule:

• March – October: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM – 4:15 PM
• November – February: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM – 5:30 PM, Saturdays 9AM – 12PM

Overview:

We are seeking a friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist to join our drive-thru urgent care team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in setting the tone for the patient’s experience. This is a year-round position where significant portions of time are spent outdoors. This position requires someone who can maintain a cheerful and professional demeanor in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients warmly as they arrive in the drive-thru lane
• Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the Athena EMR
• Select the correct insurance package based on the patient’s health insurance plan
• Verify insurance coverage and determine applicable fees
• Collect payments efficiently and securely
• Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail
• Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative team members
• Provide support in other operational areas during downtime
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance at all times

Required Qualifications:

• Outstanding customer service and communication skills
• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Familiarity with health insurance plans and ability to correctly identify and enter them into EMR
• Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying temperatures
• Team player mindset with flexibility to assist in multiple areas

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Athena EMR
• Background in healthcare, urgent care, or medical front office work

Compensation: 

• First 6 months will be paid as a 1099 with the ability to move to a W-2, if both parties agree that there is a career fit.
• 1099 compensation ranges from $24-$27 per hour based on experience.
